MARRIAGE

11-27-15

Forget your person
Discard everything you've
   ever known about your
   self
Abandon all of this to
Find nothing
Rawer than fear
Freer than love
Marriage tears at
   your heart
Rips apart the seams
Of your personal self
Created drama
A complex web of
  personhood is wiped
  away in one swoop
There is nothing left
And in that space
There's possibility
Clarity, luminous dust

APPRECIATION

There's no direction in space
Far away stars are already extinguished
There's light from a past
Traveling to the perceiver
Trees stand, they don't walk
They are relatively quiet
So listen
Wind and speed disrupt
To the point of death
Dharma pierces sleepiness
Suddenly, sometimes uncomfortably one is awakened
Anxiety is a constricted state of mind
Where joy and delight wait
For the migraine of fear to subside, and open space
Where appreciation can enter
